Girls 7s Rugby U10 – U18

In 2016, Rugby 7s was played at the Olympics for the first time.

The Australian Women’s team, won the gold medal while the Australian Men’s 7s team also put in a commendable performance. Their combined success at international level has increased interest and participation in Rugby 7s.

Rugby 7s is a unique, faster, modified rugby game that allows for a quick outcome finishing in just 14 minutes of play. Sydney Junior Rugby Union has seen the number of players enjoying this game sky rocket in the last few years. The game originated in Scotland in 1883 and is now an Olympic sport, played in many countries around the world.

Girls 7s is now in its second year at Dural Rugby Club, and is gaining a lot of momentum and some on field success as well.

As the name implies, there are only 7 players per team on the field at any one time. The game is fast and exciting and played by all ages and abilities. The Girls 7s competition is run by Sydney Junior Rugby Union. The competition is run in waves throughout the season. Girls can register for one or multiple waves:

• Wave 1: Sizzling 7s
  Term 1
• Wave 2: Frosty 7s
  Term 3
• Wave 3: Spring 7s
