16 September 2025, Welcome to Dural Rugby Club

Come Play Tritag Rugby

Dural Rugby are working with Rugby Australia to introduce TriTag Rugby in 2025!

TriTag Rugby is a non-contact, fast-paced variation of rugby designed to be inclusive and accessible for all skill levels. Players wear belts with three tags, and defenders must remove one to stop the ball carrier, simulating a tackle. The game emphasises agility, teamwork, and fun, making it ideal for schools, mixed teams, and social competitions.

TriTag is the official non-contact game from Rugby Australia

Wallatag is Evolving !!

Wallatag has plenty of news this year and it’s looking like a fantastic Summer of Tag Rugby this year.

PARTNERSHIP Rugby Australia is working with Dural Rugby to help us introduce the new national non-contact Rugby code – TRI TAG RUGBY.  Aligning with Rugby Australia creates a wide range of opportunities for our players, as well as developing the game into something that is more expansive and open to play.

EXCLUSIVE BENEFITS Rugby Australia are preparing some exclusive opportunities for our players, such as free Tickets to a Wallabies Test Match, and the chance to play on field as part of Wallabies Sydney home games.

SOCIAL COMPETITION Wallatag has always been an accessible to all young players, and Tri Tag Rugby is no different – Fun, Safe and Inclusive. Get your friends together and play.

REPRESENTATIVE PATHWAYS Post our Dural Finals, players will have the opportunity to participate in a Tri District Championship with TriTag teams from Newport and Hunters Hill, and also to compete at the TriTag State Championships in March 2026.  As the official national game, these pathways and opportunities are growing quickly

ONLINE TOOLS This year, we will run all draws and ladders in the national platform, Rugby Xplorer, so everyone can see what’s happening quickly and easily in the one place.

LOCATION We will remain at Bernie Mullane Sports Complex, Kellyville for one more year, while the Hills Shire Council builds purpose built year round Rugby Union fields at Castle Hill, where we hope to be based ‘soon’

EARLIER SEASON Based on your feedback, we will start the season late in Term 3, and finish late November, avoiding December completely

INTRO SESSION Tritag is new to us all, but is not that great a leap from Wallatag.  We will hold an evening for all age groups to learn the specifics of TriTag at the start of the season.

Please watch the video below to learn all about TriTag.  Ultimately by introducing some Rugby Sevens type elements, we hope to open the field up and reward teams that move the ball about and have the whole squad involved.

RE-USE SINGLET. We all have cupboards full of 3 year old sports shirts.  Wallatag is reusing last year’s reversible singlet to cut down on our waste generation and your pile of old shirts.  If you are new or have grown, we will have singlets in stock for sale at the ground.  The singlet will remain the same for the years to come.

FEES – we have removed a free issue single use shirt from the fees.  This year based on ground hire and insurance fees, our 10 week fee is $115.  You may use an Active Kids Rebate Voucher.

REGISTRATION is a two-part process.

STEP 1 – team Manager nominates the team name and age group.  Managers, please include team NAME, GENDER (Boys / Mixed / Girls) and AGE in the team name.

STEP 2 – the Manager will receive a link that can be shared to all players.  Using the link, the player completes the registration process.

TIMING – based on prior years feedback, we have pushed the start to 5:00 PM on the Friday Nights.  Depending on team numbers, we may coordinate with the primary school aged teams to start  a bit later and run some independently travelling high school ages first.

CALENDAR See Below

12 September – Introduction night, then commence normal games on 19 September.  Break for the holidays, and back on 17 October, through to Finals on 28 November

REPRESENTATIVE DATES are still being finalised based on each districts competition. Expected to be in February 2026 with State Championships in March 2026
